Southern
Skies, LLC is the only factory-authorized US distributor of the quietest,
powerful and easiest starting paramotor units we know,
The Fresh Breeze. Our motor units support some of the best power to
weight ratios on the market. Precision German engineering provides a
light but robust powered paragliding unit that will endure the test
of time. This motor is the only unit offered in the USA certified by
the DULV (German ultralight association) for safety and design. Fresh
Breeze motors feature a soft J-bar suspension system with a quick release
that allows both a excellent feel for your paraglider and an emergency
motor jettison feature for even more enhanced security in flight. Optionally,
a Sportix (low hangpoint) suspension is available. There
is also a comfort bar suspension
available for a more rigid hook in feel. Additionally, Fresh Breeze
motors feature custom tuned exhaust, Bing floatbowl carburetor (pumpcarburetor on request),
special intake silencer, and carbon composite props for a powerful but very quiet motor.
All Fresh Breeze motors also use a HEIS (High Energy Ignition System)
which allows a very easy start. You can actually get a spark at less
than 100 RPM making electric start unnecessary. The fuel tank is mounted
above the float bowl carburetor on most motors allowing positive
fuel delivery, with no priming required. All in all, the Fresh
Breeze represents the forefront of powered paragliding technology and
with 19 years in the field our units have proven their value and are
constantly updated. |

Here is a shot of the Airboss motor. On the far left, the black tube is the intake silencer going up the frame beside which is the bing float bowl carburetor. The re-drive belt is clearly seen. The tuned exhaust comes in from above, in the middle, and attaches to the muffler at the 90 deg. joint. Most material is 6061 aircraft grade aluminum. The frame is 5024 aluminum for more bend resilience. |

Here is another shot of the Airboss motor. The tuned exhaust is more clearly seen on the right. The large gas tank is in the upper middle. The extra large cylinder head (the silver part at the lower end with lots of fins) is in the lower middle. You can see some of the anti-vibration mounts right in the middle of the picture, as well as the soft back pad on the left. This is a older picture the intake silencer has been re-routed and made of a new tough plastic see here for the new design it is much better than the old one and will last the life of the unit unlike this one which was made of a soft foam. | ||||
Here is a shot of the Simonini motor. On the far left, the black box is the intake silencer. It is attached to the bing float bowl carburetor. The re-drive belt is seen just under the propeller. The tuned exhaust comes around the motor from the far side and down by the head from above and attaches to the muffler at the 90 deg. joint. Most material is 6061 aircraft grade aluminum. The frame is 5024 aluminum for more bend resilience. We have also started using the new intake tube on this motor as well, as it provides more power see it here. "If you come in at 200lb to 240lb this is the motor you want to be flying in the average USA environment ... hands down," said the Slugger "James Coblentz" |

![]() |

The
4 part cage is standard on solo, hirth, snap, black devil, and simoini
motors. It allows you to fit the unit in any car. you can also just replace
the sections you break in a less than perfect landing a cost saver for
sure. Since the Cage is made of 5024 Aluminum it will bend and not break.
A titanium cage is available for the simoini motor as well. On the right
the solo motor head and the 4 part cage are separated, you could in this
state place the unit in the back seat of your car. (You can remove the prop and break it down in to two pieces as well and our wings are guaranteed to fold up ... hehe.) |

Take a look at the parts catalog to get a idea of how our units are assembled the one we have is for the solo units but the info is good all around. |

The picture shows an example of how to fasten the rescue device . | ![]() Using the V-line. The rescue device should be connect with the pilot suspension using the V-line. So it´s an optimal landing position in case of a possible release. The rescue device should not be hung in the harness using the spring hooks, because of supine in rescue release. |
Tool kit included. Fits in your harness pocket. |

The battery and control panel. | ![]() The electric start makes starting your paramotor as easy as child's play. It adds a total of 8lb in weight. The complete set comes with generator and power ignition. So the battery is charged during flight. A 12 V outlet can be used to power external devices like GPS, Radio, CD- or MP3-player. |

About the power plants of the older or limited motors and new developments: Military Surplus This was an order of 500 motors ordered in germany for border patrol in Afganistan. After 1 year and delivery of 250 motors the export certificate was revoked by the german government. The units are built out of 1 inch tubing and are very strong to resist harsh military use. The Pocket Radne has been discontinued. New Propellers available and in stock: "Helix" These
propellers have a round machined hub. Both propellers are made in Germany.
They are made from carbon fiber, glass and epoxy resin. These propellers
are of the highest quality and super light weight These Props are standard equipment with a new order.
